Rent and Bills

Cooperative Emergency Outreach (CEO) provides vouchers for food, gas, clothing, utility, rental, and prescription payments. They’re open Monday through Friday from 1-3p and can handle 15 applicants a day. All applications are processed in person.

Helping Hands NWA provides first come, first serve rent (and rent deposit), utility, food, and medical bill assistance. Clients need to arrive at 6:30 am to receive a number (10 per day only) Clients will return at 10:00 am to apply for assistance. Assistance is limited to once every four months and must be paid directly to the landlord / managing company.

Black Hills Energy has an assistance program for relief from their utility bills through a partnership with United Way of Northwest Arkansas. Applications can be found online or via phone. UWNWA shall utilize available funds to aid needy individuals according to program parameters until funds are exhausted. Assistance is available for gas service bill payment.

SWEPCO offers some options for utility payment programs and bill relief for low income individuals. You can find that information online.


Medical & Other

Additional assistance resources for those living with cancer or HIV/AIDS can be found at arkansas211.org.

Samaritan Community Center provides an array of assistance programs including: SnackPacks (to provide snacks to food insecure children on weekends and free backpacks with school supplies), Samaritan Cafe (serving free hot meals in a restaurant setting), Samaritan Market (food pantry - requires religious discussion), and a range of free health and dental services for underinsured individuals living in poverty.

Washington Regional provides financial assistance for those services that are determined to be medically necessary, non-elective, emergent and urgent for both inpatients and outpatients to those patients who are uninsured and underinsured. To reach a financial counselor, please call 479.463.6000

Hope Cancer Resources offers support with emotional and physical well being, assistance with bills and living expenses, and help with transportation for patients diagnosed with cancer.

Highlands Oncology also offers an array of support services for patients receiving treatment there.
